Let's see...Bailey is now 1 year old (time still flies regardless of their age) and on the GO! She started taking steps in late March and by the first of April she was pretty much walking...right before her birthday & just like her sister. April 4th was the big "buy shoes" day which we purchased at Holmes Shoes ~ that's the one of two stores that I can find in the QCA area that sells stride rite shoes. At any rate, she's doing really well now...almost runs if you start to chase her for fun (as she's laughing of course).
I wish I could say her, Bailey's, eating habits were awesome but i can't. I've learned to accept the concept that she'll eat when she's hungry. Samantha was the same way...gee go figure!
Bailey will eat just about anything, everything from a cheeto/tostito to eggs w/ketchup to green veggies (mainly broccoli) to some fruits (depends on her mood). She loves cereal (cheerios and cinnoman life), drinks some milk from her sippy cup but seems to perfer water in the cup. She hasn't tranistioned 100% to milk which is unlike her sister but oh well not much can be done. We're providing her half formula and half whole milk for her bottles and we almost have one of her four bottles completely withdrawn from her daily scheduled...yeah! Bailey LOVES to eat with her hands compared to using utensils so that's always a fun mess to clean up but who can argue when she's actually eating right?!
Bailey's 1 yr. checkup went well weighing in at 18.5 lbs. and 27 3/4 inches long. She's on the small side but that's okay just look at her dad...i'm kidding. Samantha's the same way. We actually think Bailey will be taller than Samantha.
Bailey's says "da da" and knows the noises to make for dog and elephant. Mom's still working on cat, bird, and duck with her. She says "ma ma" usually if she's hurt or needs something really badly. She signs for MORE food/drink/whatever it is she wants, says "tank you" and signs for MILK as well. We think she's said, "Gary" (my brother) and sissy but aren't too sure.
Bailey has four teeth on top and only two on the bottom...she can still open anything if she wants it bad enough! Other than that she's doing well and growing just fine. Doctor says keep up the good work and she'll go back again in three months!
