Samantha Update

Samantha's birthday is real soon and she'll be turning 3, once again hard to believe! I just looked at her pictures from one month to three years and she seems soooo grown up now :(
She's doing very well...learning lots from mom during our car rides to see grandparents and daycare. We are currently working on weather conditions and days of the week using a neat magnet calendar i found at Borders. Other things we've worked on are: her full name, the city and state she lives in, recognizing and matching colors, some letter recognition, singing songs (which she catches on to fairly quickly), and so on.
Samantha is such a mom at times it's nice but can be challenging too. Her biggest "obstacle" to overcome right now is letting Bailey learn to do things on her own, including moving! Samantha has a tendency to do things for Bailey and/or move her...rather nice but Bailey needs to operate at her own speed. Samantha LOVES to set the table, help cook/bake, she even helped dad plant the garden and has let it be known to MeMaw Klauer that we have no pretty flowers at our house so apparently mom and samantha will be planting flowers sometime in the near future!
Samantha ADORES reading...I only hope that quality stays with her because lord knows mom is not a reader but should be. We've read so many books that she can tell the story (based upon picture recognition) page for page. She is very thankful for all the new books that are given to her.
Some of her interests right now include, Curious George, Tinkerbell, Smurfs, Mickey Mouse Club, ALWAYS playing OUTSIDE and riding her bike if she can! Both girls LOVE the outdoors and ALWAYS fuss when it's time to come inside.
